Basketball Recap: Wellsville-Middletown Tigers vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds

The Wellsville-Middletown Tigers lost against the North Callaway Thunderbirds back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Wellsville-Middletown was beaten by the Thunderbirds 72-34. Wellsville-Middletown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-17.

North Callaway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clayton Moore led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Drake, who scored 16 points along with five steals.

Wellsville-Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for North Callaway, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellsville-Middletown won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Elsberry will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. North Callaway will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Fayette is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
