Softball Recap: Port Aransas Takes a Loss

Port Aransas lost against Refugio on March 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Port Aransas fell just short of Refugio by a score of 19-18. Even if the Marlins couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Port Aransas has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Refugio and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Aransas will venture away from home to face off against Skidmore-Tynan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Skidmore-Tynan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Port Aransas' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Refugio, they will head out on the road to square off against Pettus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Refugio is facing Pettus at the right time seeing as Pettus is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
