Baseball Recap: Fort Mill Finds Home Field Redemption Against Catawba Ridge

There's no place like home for Fort Mill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Catawba Ridge Copperheads on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Yellow Jackets: when they faced off against the Copperheads last Wednesday, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Alex Carreiro tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jacob Pettit was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Carter Blankinship also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Fort Mill's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Catawba Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1.
