Softball Recap: Pellston Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Pellston's offense. They came up short against the Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals on Monday, falling 19-0. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost nine in a row.

Pellston's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pellston will square off against Bellaire at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they will take on Harbor Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
