Basketball Recap: Alanna Benoit's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mandeville over Slidell

Mandeville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 58-50 to the Slidell Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-35 back in November of 2024.

Several Skippers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alanna Benoit, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. Benoit is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Giulia Balbo, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 13 points.

Mandeville's defeat dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Slidell, they pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Mandeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Slidell, they will be playing at home against Salmen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
