Crete-Monee won the last time they faced Joliet Central and things went their way on Saturday too. Crete-Monee put the hurt on Joliet Central with a sharp 9-2 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dylan Dee tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bren Milburn and Kijuan Springfield did most of the damage at the plate: Milburn scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5, while Springfield got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Springfield a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Gaddis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Crete-Monee's record is now 3-4. As for Joliet Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crete-Monee will take on Oak Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crete-Monee is facing Oak Forest at the right time seeing as Oak Forest is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Joliet Central, they will challenge Blue Island Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Joliet Central's pitchers better be ready for this one: Blue Island Eisenhower has averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
