Softball Recap: Bunkie Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Bunkie lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Feliciana, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Panthers blew past the Saints 12-4 on Thursday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Aubree Ducote spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Rylee Townsend was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brenna Ferguson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Bunkie's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for West Feliciana, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Bunkie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Feliciana, they have already played their next match, a 19-0 defeat against Parkview Baptist on the 12th.
