Football Recap: Battle Ground Academy's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Battle Ground Academy challenged Goodpasture Christian on Friday. The Wildcats beat the Cougars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 56-14. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Cougars are ranked 70th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kaedyn Marable continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 282 yards and six touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also rushing for 58 yards. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Maddox Porter, who picked up 136 receiving yards and three scores.

When it comes to explaining why Goodpasture Christian lost, don't look at Slim Leavell. Despite the final result, he picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The Cougars also got help from Andrew Perry, who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.

The win (which was Battle Ground Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43.2 points. As for Goodpasture Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Coming up, Battle Ground Academy will welcome Grace Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Goodpasture Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Hunters Lane at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
