Basketball Game Preview: Mesquite Skeeters vs. Lancaster Tigers

The Mesquite Skeeters will head out to challenge the Lancaster Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mesquite has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Lancaster will arrive with 11 straight wins.

On Tuesday, Mesquite came up short against Skyline and fell 57-49. That's two games in a row now that the Skeeters have lost by exactly eight points.

Meanwhile, Lancaster faced Duncanville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Lancaster walked away with a 68-60 victory over Duncanville.

Lancaster has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Mesquite, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

Mesquite was taken down by Lancaster 81-52 in their previous matchup on January 7th. Can Mesquite avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
