Soccer Game Preview: Odyssey Institute vs. Kingman

The Odyssey Institute Minotaur will challenge the Kingman Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Odyssey Institute is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Yuma Catholic on Friday. They came up short against the Shamrocks, falling 4-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Minotaur were already down 3-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kingman). Everything went their way against River Valley on Monday as Kingman made off with an 11-2 win. Raudel Vega- Diaz was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

Kingman has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those eight games. As for Odyssey Institute, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-8-1.

Odyssey Institute took their victory against Kingman in their previous meeting back in January of 2020 by a conclusive 8-0. Does Odyssey Institute have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kingman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
