Basketball Game Preview: Easley Green Wave vs. Greenwood Eagles

Easley is 1-9 against Greenwood since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Easley Green Wave will challenge the Greenwood Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Easley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.9 points per game this season.

While Easley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Beaufort Academy 72-26 last Saturday. The Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 27 points or more this season.

Easley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rj Stack, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Stack is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. Ethan Crews was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Easley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Greenwood entered their tilt with Emerald on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 72-63.

Greenwood has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Easley, they moved to 8-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Easley came up short against Greenwood in their previous meeting back in February, falling 71-66. Can Easley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
