Volleyball Recap: Mooresville Comes Up Short

Mooresville lost against A.L. Brown two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blue Devils lost 3-0 to the Wonders. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Blue Devils haven't been shut out since back in March.

While Mooresville was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into A.L. Brown's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-19, 25-20.

A.L. Brown was led to victory by Riley Turner and Kevin Barrera-Perez. Turner had 11 digs and four aces, while Barrera-Perez had eight digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Barrera-Perez a new career-high.

Mooresville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for A.L. Brown, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mooresville is set to challenge their familiar foe Lake Norman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, A.L. Brown will take on rival North Mecklenburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
