Preview: Morgan Raiders vs. Meadowbrook Colts
After two games on the road, Morgan is heading back home. They will take on the Meadowbrook Colts at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Wednesday, Morgan took a serious blow against New Lexington, falling 62-20. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Morgan in their matchups with New Lexington: they've now lost eight in a row.
Even though Meadowbrook has not done well against West Muskingum recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Meadowbrook escaped with a win against West Muskingum by the margin of a single free throw, 49-48. The win was all the more spectacular given Meadowbrook's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while West Muskingum is ranked 143rd).
Morgan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Meadowbrook, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Morgan beat Meadowbrook 51-42 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Morgan repeat their success, or does Meadowbrook have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
