Volleyball Recap: Mayde Creek Takes a Loss

Mayde Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Bend Travis Tigers. The Rams were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Isabella Gomez paced Mayde Creek's offense, picking up 17 kills. Gomez got some help from Autumn Wimberely and her 21 assists. Naomi Emberru controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Fort Bend Travis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Scarlett Sera, who had six assists and five digs. Those five digs gave Sera a new career-high. Molly McClimans was another key player, getting 15 assists and seven digs.

Mayde Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fort Bend Travis, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Mayde Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Cypress Park on the 15th. As for Fort Bend Travis, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Fort Bend Austin on the 15th.
