Volleyball Game Preview: Methuen Rangers vs. Sharon Eagles + How To Watch

The Methuen Rangers will square off against the Sharon Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Methuen is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Andover just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Golden Warriors, falling 3-0.

While Methuen ultimately came up short, they really made Andover work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 27-25, 25-15.

Methuen might have lost, but man, Kathryn Driend was a machine: she had six kills, six digs, three blocks, and three aces. Driend has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 12 times she's played. Ella Duffy was another key player, getting 12 digs and three assists.

Meanwhile, Sharon lost 3-0 to Attleboro on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bombardiers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 25-14.

Sharon's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Methuen, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Methuen was able to grind out a solid win over Sharon in their previous matchup on September 6th, winning 3-1. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
