Basketball Game Preview: Garfield Heights Bulldogs vs. Coventry Comets

The Garfield Heights Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Coventry Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Garfield Heights is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 4th on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 78-29 loss at the hands of Warrensville Heights. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Tigers are ranked 94th).

Meanwhile, Coventry played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Cloverleaf, falling 53-30. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coventry's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Garfield Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Garfield Heights came up short against Coventry when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 41-28. Can Garfield Heights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
