Basketball Recap: North Callaway Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when North Callaway faced off against Silex on Thursday. The North Callaway Thunderbirds fell 52-42 to the Silex Owls. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, North Callaway still got an impressive performance from Lakyn Hartley, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Hartley has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Olsson, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

North Callaway now has a losing record at 1-2.

North Callaway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-33 defeat against Father Tolton on the 9th. As for Silex, they will take on Mexico at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
