Julien Simpson Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Thursday, North Mesquite had to settle for second even though Julien Simpson put up the best numbers he has all season. Simpson rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

North Mesquite's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. Simpson and North Mesquite will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on White at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.
