After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tower Hill, Tatnall was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the St. Andrew's Cardinals 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since May 2, 2024.

Jacob Glazier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Glazier was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Glazier wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Veghte, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Billy Combs also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Tatnall's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10-1. As for St. Andrew's, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tatnall will challenge Mount Pleasant at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Knights have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for St. Andrew's, they will take on Polytech at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
