Recap: Chico Panthers vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles
It was a good run, but the Chico Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 84-43 loss at the hands of Del Oro. Chico was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-23.
When it comes to explaining why Chico lost, one person who can't be blamed is Costantino Thompson. Despite the final result, he scored 6 points.
Even though they lost, Chico were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Oro only posted 24.
Caden Pinnick was the offensive standout of the match as he almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Luke Galer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Chico's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Del Oro, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Chico is on the road again on Friday and play against River Valley at 4:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Del Oro, they will face off against Monte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
