Volleyball Game Preview: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Ponderosa Mustangs

The Eaglecrest Raptors will venture away from home to face off against the Ponderosa Mustangs at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Eaglecrest is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Pine Creek just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Ponderosa came up short against Cherokee Trail on Friday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Ponderosa was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-14.

Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Eaglecrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Everything went Eaglecrest's way against Ponderosa when the teams last played on Friday, as Eaglecrest made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Raptors repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
