Fort Stockton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lake View Chiefs , sneaking past 30-27. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2021.
Fort Stockton was led to victory by Kasch Norman and Gerry Diaz. Norman threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns, while Diaz rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Rylan Nunez was Norman's top target, picking up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fort Stockton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 222 rushing yards in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
