Softball Recap: Pine Prairie Wins High-Profile Contest Against Iota

On Thursday, Pine Prairie faced Iota in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Pine Prairie Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Iota Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Kynnedi Ware's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josie Vidrine, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Camryn Aguillard, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Pine Prairie's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2.
