Basketball Recap: Pahokee Takes a Loss

Pahokee dropped to 1-3 on Thursday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They were dealt a 55-11 defeat at the hands of the Moore Haven Terriers. The Blue Devils lost against the Terriers in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 49-43 score last time.

As for Moore Haven, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games.

Sa'Nyree Myers had another great game (as she tends to do), going 14-for-23 to rack up 33 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Moore Haven's points. Chanel Hunter was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pahokee and Oxbridge Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Moore Haven, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
