Softball Recap: St. Ansgar Comes Up Short

St. Ansgar managed to slip by Newman Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Saints lost 10-2 to the Knights on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Saints couldn't push the score so high this time.

St. Ansgar's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-9. As for Newman Catholic, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

St. Ansgar wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Riceville on the 14th. As for Newman Catholic, they will welcome Osage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Green Devils will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
