Baseball Recap: Yates Center Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Uniontown, Yates Center was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Oswego Indians 14-4. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won seven in a row.

Evan McVey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. McVey was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaiden Rutherford, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kage Beck was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Yates Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oswego only posted an OBP of .364.
