Soccer Recap: Lake Wales Wins Going Away Against Discovery

Lake Wales's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Discovery Spartans as the Lake Wales Highlanders made off with an 8-0 win. That looming 8-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Highlanders yet this season.

They hit Discovery with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Breanna McQuillen (3), Brooke MacLeod (2), Aryn Rogers (2), and Sydney Socorro.

Lake Wales' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Discovery, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Wales will head out to challenge Sebring at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Discovery, they will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on Ridgeview Global Studies Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.
