Softball Recap: Parish Hill Has No Trouble Against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering

Parish Hill barely beat Academy of Aerospace and Engineering the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates put the hurt on the Jets with a sharp 28-9 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Jets: they've now won four in a row.

Julie Millerd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Millerd was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with six runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.5 runs per game.

In other batting news, Sionna Houser was a standout: she got on base in all six of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, six RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Eva Donnelly-Hardisty was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI.
