Basketball Game Preview: Wells Pirates vs. Zavalla Eagles

The Wells Pirates will challenge the Zavalla Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wells will be strutting in after a win while Zavalla will be coming in after a loss.

Wells not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 24, 2025 (when they won 72-43). They were the clear victors by a 53-33 margin over Broaddus.

Meanwhile, 2026 welcomed Zavalla with a 63-42 loss courtesy of Kennard on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Wells pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Zavalla, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Everything came up roses for Wells against Zavalla in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, as the squad secured a 61-33 victory. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
