Baseball Game Preview: Trabuco Hills Mustangs vs. San Juan Hills Stallions

The Trabuco Hills Mustangs will head out to square off against the San Juan Hills Stallions at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Trabuco Hills will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Mission Viejo on Tuesday. The Mustangs blew past the Diablos 10-1. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Diablos: they've now won nine in a row.

The team relied heavily on Evan Hall, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Luce, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Trabuco Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, San Juan Hills entered their tilt with Lakewood on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Lancers. San Juan Hills' victory was all the more impressive since the Lancers were averaging only 4.1 runs allowed on the season.

San Juan Hills' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Trabuco Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5-1.

Trabuco Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against San Juan Hills in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stallions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
