Baseball Game Preview: Danville Blue Devils vs. Fredericktown Freddies

Danville is 0-9 against Fredericktown since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Blue Devils will take on the Freddies at 5:15 p.m. Danville is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Danville will bounce into Friday's contest after beating East Knox, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Blue Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 7-6.

Meanwhile, Fredericktown posted their closest victory since April 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They skirted past Centerburg 4-3.

Danville pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Fredericktown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season.

Danville suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Fredericktown in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
