Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Burns' Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Burns hadn't done well against Nyssa recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Burns Hilanders walked away with a 47-35 victory over the Nyssa Bulldogs. For the Hilanders, this counts as revenge for the 45-34 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Burns is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Nyssa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burns will head out to challenge McLoughlin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nyssa, they will challenge Umatilla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
