Volleyball Recap: Purdue Polytechnic Takes a Loss

Purdue Polytechnic suffered their biggest defeat since August 26th on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Herron Achaeans. The loss continues a trend for the Techies in their meetings with the Achaeans: they've now lost eight in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-9, 25-15.

Purdue Polytechnic's offense was headlined by Kaida Lovett and Camara Walker-Brown, who picked up three kills apiece. Lovett really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. Finally, Ceciley Cage kept Purdue Polytechnic's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Leading Herron to victory were Neelah Biswas and Layla Williams. Biswas had 30 digs and three assists, while Williams had six digs and three aces. That's the most digs Williams has posted over her last nine matchups. Another player making a difference was Izzy Goloschokin, who had five digs and four aces.

Purdue Polytechnic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Herron, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Purdue Polytechnic has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Indianapolis Shortridge on the 1st. As for Herron, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Heritage Christian on the 30th.
