Baseball Recap: Shelton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Shelton came into Tuesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Elma Eagles 9-2 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Highclimbers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gunnar Jensen made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jensen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Zaine Harding was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Zaine Scott was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Shelton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Elma, they dropped their record down to 0-1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelton is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on La Center at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elma, they will head out to challenge Hoquiam at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
