Baseball Recap: East Wake Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage, East Wake Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Chatham Charter Knights by a score of 3-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Mason Brantley's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, East Wake Academy's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Driver, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Jordan Fuentes was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

East Wake Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Chatham Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Wake Academy will head out to square off against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. American Leadership Academy-Johnston will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something East Wake Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chatham Charter, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cornerstone Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
