Baseball Game Preview: Greendale Panthers vs. Wauwatosa West Trojans

The Greendale Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Wauwatosa West Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wauwatosa West took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Greendale, who comes in off a win.

Greendale's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against West Allis Central as they made off with a 17-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wauwatosa West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 8-5 to Wauwatosa East.

Wauwatosa West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layne Guardiola, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. Peter Neugent also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Wauwatosa West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Greendale, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Greendale was able to grind out a solid victory over Wauwatosa West in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
