Basketball Recap: Trinity Catholic Comes Up Short

Trinity Catholic played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 79-24 loss at the hands of The Villages Charter Buffalo. The Celtics were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-10.

The Villages Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adyn Corbin, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 26 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Nick D'Alessandro was another key player, going 7 of 17 en route to 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Trinity Catholic's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14. As for The Villages Charter, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-5.

Trinity Catholic will square off against St. Joseph Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. The Villages Charter has already played their next game, a 76-61 win against Williston on the 1st.
