Softball Recap: Kennett Comes Up Short

Kennett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the Valley View Blazers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 back in March.

Avery Payne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Handley McAtee was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Kennett's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Valley View, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Kennett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley View, they will take on Wynne at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
