Softball Game Preview: Somerset Briar Jumpers vs. Russell County Lakers

The Somerset Briar Jumpers will face off against the Russell County Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Somerset will be strutting in after a win while Russell County will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Somerset earned a 6-2 victory over Lincoln County. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Briar Jumpers.

Meanwhile, Russell County didn't have quite enough to beat Wayne County on Thursday and fell 9-8. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rylen McGowan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Duncan, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Somerset's win bumped their record up to 10-15-1. As for Russell County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15-1.
