Baseball Recap: Bellville Takes a Loss

Bellville was the 6-5 winner over Smithville when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Brahmas fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday.

Bellville has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Smithville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bellville will challenge rival Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Smithville is set to square off against their familiar foe La Grange at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
