Basketball Game Preview: Forreston Cardinals vs. Oregon Hawks

The Forreston Cardinals will be taking part in a tournament against the Oregon Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Forreston has given up an average of 53 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Forreston's tournament run continued when they took on Winnebago on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell 56-47 to the Indians. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Oregon strolled past Pearl City with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 67-52. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Wolves are ranked 464th).

Forreston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Oregon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Everything went Forreston's way against Oregon when the teams last played back in January, as Forreston made off with a 73-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
