On Thursday, East Ascension faced Denham Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The East Ascension Spartans snuck past the Denham Springs Yellowjackets with a 65-60 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

East Ascension's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. As for Denham Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Live Oak the next time they take the court. East Ascension will host Live Oak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Denham Springs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th.
