Football Recap: Bruce Randolph Takes a Loss

Bruce Randolph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Coronado Cougars, falling 38-6.

Bruce Randolph didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Devojanae Harper and Ty McPherson. Another thorn in Coronado's side was Mia Hernandez, who made six total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended four passes.

Coronado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tatiana Gonzalez, who rushed for 67 yards on only five carries, and also picked up 67 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards Gonzalez has posted since back in September of 2024. Sara Christensen did her part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 115 receiving yards.

Bruce Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Coronado, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

Coming up, Bruce Randolph will challenge George Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Grizzlies' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Coronado, they are taking a road trip to take on Vista Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
