Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Westchester Comets, falling 85-36. The Yankees were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-23.

Despite the defeat, Hamilton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Matthew Thierry went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Thierry a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Michael Gooden, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Hamilton's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Westchester, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Los Angeles CES the next time they take the court. Westchester will head out to face Los Angeles CES at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Hamilton will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
