Softball Recap: Baldwyn Beats New Site for Their Third Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Baldwyn). They put the hurt on the New Site Royals with a sharp 26-18 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Caroline Craven was incredible, getting on base in all seven of her plate appearances with seven RBI, four runs, and two triples. What's more, she posted four hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jana Claire Collins, who scored three runs while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances.

Baldwyn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .702. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Site only posted an OBP of .479.

The win (which was Baldwyn's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.3 runs over those games. As for New Site, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baldwyn will welcome Tremont at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Site, they will host Falkner at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
