Baseball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Dubois

While DuBois didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past the Punxsutawney Chucks 2-1. The two-run effort marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

DuBois saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Wingard, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Wingard has posted since back in April of 2024.

The win was the sixth in a row for DuBois, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Punxsutawney, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DuBois will face off against Clarion Area at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Punxsutawney, they will square off against Philipsburg-Osceola at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
