Volleyball Recap: West Valley's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

West Valley was the 2-1 winner over Colusa when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 2-0 to the RedHawks on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Eagles' undefeated start to the season.

Rainessa Matthews paced West Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Matthews got some help from Marlee Byxbe and her nine assists. Campbell Anthony and Kamea Simmons kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

West Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Colusa, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

West Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Enterprise on the 28th. As for Colusa, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Sutter on the 25th.
