The Hamburg Lions will head out to square off against the Weston Wolves at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Hamburg came up short against Drew Central on Friday, falling 10-3. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, everything went Weston's way against Choudrant on Friday as Weston made off with a 16-6 win. Considering the Wolves have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sawyer Watkins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

In other batting news, Weston got a massive performance out of Ty Henderson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Henderson has posted since back in April of 2024. Bryce Zehr was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Weston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Choudrant only posted an OBP of .240.

Weston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.8 runs. Hamburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
