Soccer Game Preview: North Branch vs. Mankato West

The North Branch Vikings will challenge the Mankato West Scarlets at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

North Branch is headed into their game with Mankato West looking for a result a bit more satisfying than what they got in their season opener against Hermantown on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Mankato West also started their season off with a less-than-sastisfying result. They played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against New Prague.

North Branch beat Mankato West by a goal when the teams last played back in October of 2017, winning 2-1. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Scarlets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
