Baseball Game Preview: Leicester Wolverines vs. Tantasqua Regional Warriors

Leicester is 2-7 against Tantasqua Regional since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wolverines will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Warriors at 3:30 p.m.

Leicester is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They came up short against Bartlett on Wednesday, falling 12-0.

Meanwhile, Tantasqua Regional never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Southbridge. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jack Blood looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Brandon Phillips was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Giulio Papandrea, who scored two runs and stole a base.
